Step-by-Step Installation
Step-by-Step Installation
The following procedure describes how to install and configure the OSI/MHS AU
product:
1. Create the AU user-permissions database file.
The master user sets up an AU user-permissions database file for each OSI/MHS
subsystem that the master user administrates. The name of the AU user-permissions
database should be the name defined by the AUS-AUUSERS-FILENAME
parameter in the AU-SERVER class configuration. To create an AU
user-permissions database, use the following procedure:
a. Log on as the user who owns the MHSMGR of the OSI/MHS subsystem.
b. Using TACL, load the AUINST macro file (from the AU PSV) by typing the
following:
LOAD /KEEP 1/ AUINST
c. Run the AU_CR_USERS macro by typing the following:
AU_CR_USERS [ $volumename.subvolumename. ] filename
where [ $volumename.subvolumename. ] filename is the file name of
the AU user-permissions database file.
Note that the fully qualified file name you enter here must match the entry in the
AU Pathway parameter AUS-AUUSERS-FILENAME. If you do not specify a
file name, the macro displays a help message and exits. If you do not fully
qualify the file name, the location of the file defaults to the current subvolume.
2. Create the Pathway servers for the AU.
Add the two AU server classes (the AU-DISTRIBUTOR class and the
AU-SERVER class) to a Pathway environment for each OSI/MHS subsystem you
administrate. You can add these servers to either an existing or new Pathway
environment. The user who creates the AU Pathway servers becomes the master
user for the AU. The file AUCNFG, provided on the AU PSV, gives an example of
a Pathway configuration for the AU. You may change the Pathway parameters to
reflect your specific environment.
Parameters starting with AUD are used by the AU-DISTRIBUTOR class. The
AU-DISTRIBUTOR class must use the AUDIST program file.
Parameters starting with AUS are used by the AU-SERVER class. The
AU-SERVER class must use the AUSRVR program file.
The AUDIST and AUSRVR program files are provided on the AU PSV.
Note. If you have chosen a configuration requiring more than one user-permissions database,
repeat steps 1 and 2 of the following procedure for each user-permissions database you will be
using.
