Details of the AU Screens
The following subsections describe each screen shown in Figure 3-1.
Logon Screen
The browser displays the logon screen when you open the URL for the AU. You must
enter a Guardian user name (in the form groupname.username) and password. The user
name and password must exist on the AU-SRVR process’s system, and the user name
must exist in the AU permissions database (see User Permissions Screen
, later in this
subsection for information about setting user permissions). When you click on the “Log
On,” button, the user name and password are sent to the AU where validation is
performed.
Two types of users may access the AU: the master user and regular users. The master
user owns the AU-SRVR process and should be the user who installed the OSI/MHS
subsystem. (The person who installed the OSI/MHS subsystem may have access
privileges needed for AU management that other individuals do not.) Regular users have
permission to use the AU but are not recognized as the master user.
If the following conditions are true, the user is identified as the master user, and the
control screen that includes the Define User Permissions” option appears:
The user name and password are valid for the current system.
The user name matches that of the AU-SRVR process owner.
If the following conditions are true, the user is identified as a regular user, and the
control screen that does not include the “Define User Permissions” option appears:
The user name and password are valid for the current system.
The user name exists within the AU permissions database.
The user name does not match that of the AU-SRVR process owner.
If the user name and password are valid Guardian values, but the user name doesn't exist
in the AU permissions database, an AU error is returned indicating access denial.
To remove information you’ve entered in the text fields, click on the “Reset Form”
button.
Control Screen
The control screen is the main decision screen; the Web browser displays the control
screen after a successful logon. From this screen you can choose one of the following
options:
List Subsystem PDUs
List Route Retry PDUs
List Link Retry PDUs
List Deferred PDUs
