PDU Options Screen
The “Protocol Options” section of the PDU options screen provides choices for
displaying the PDU when you choose the “Decode Trace” or “Decoded Message”
display. The following options are available:
Envelope The protocol that displays the envelope of the PDU.
The protocol can be P1, P2, P3, or ROSE (includes
P7). The default is P1.
Content If selected, the message content appears.
Content Method One of the following methods is used for displaying
the message content:
AUTO If the content type is recognized, the content
appears in decoded format. If the content type
is unrecognized or undefined, the content
appears in encoded (hexadecimal) format.
AUTO is the default.
P2 The content appears as decoded P2.
PEDI The content appears as decoded protocol
electronic data interchange (Pedi).
EXTERNAL The content appears as EXTERNAL, which is
used for downgraded content.
HEX The content appears in encoded (hexadecimal)
format.
ASCII The content appears as a stream of printable
characters.
Length of strings Maximum length of displayed strings.
Length of encoded data Maximum length of encoded data.
Number of recipients Maximum number of recipient elements displayed.
Number of internal or external
trace elements to be displayed
Maximum number of internal or external trace
elements displayed.
