MTA (Message Transfer Agent) Objects
Examples of Commands for MTA Objects
The following are examples of commands for MTA objects.
The following examples show nonsensitive commands you can use to obtain
information about OSI/MHS MTA objects and subordinate ROUTE objects:
INFO MTA $ZMHS.#OSIMHS
∗
INFO MTA $ZMHS.#OSIMHS003, DETAIL
ALTER Alters one or more attributes of an OSI/MHS MTA object. The attributes
describe an actual adjacent MTA.
The REM-MTA-NAME attribute is not valid for this command; you can
neither alter nor add the name of an adjacent MTA once you have added
the corresponding MTA object. The name must be included in the
original object definition the first time you add it to the subsystem. If you
want an MTA object to have a different name, you can delete the MTA
object and then define a new MTA object with the new MTA name.
An MTA object is accessed only during association establishment.
Making changes to the MTA object does not affect any current
association in progress with that MTA object.
The ALTER command allows you to specify whether or not MTA bind
authentication parameters are to be generated and validated using an
external password server process. If so, you also specify the name of
the password server. For more information on password servers, see
OSI/MHS Security Interfaces on page 2-11. For information about
integrating a password server, see the OSI/MHS Management
Programming Manual.
DELETE Deletes an MTA object definition from the OSI/MHS association
database.
Before deleting an MTA object, you must delete any subordinate ROUTE
objects.
INFO Lists the attribute values for an MTA object, except the passwords given
by the attributes REM-THEIR-PASSW and REM-OUR-PASSW.
(REM-OUR-PASSW specifies the password that the local OSI/MHS MTA
sends to an adjacent MTA, along with an association request, to allow
the adjacent MTA to check the identity of the sending MTA.
REM-THEIR-PASSW specifies the password that the local OSI/MHS
MTA should receive from an adjacent MTA in an association request, to
validate the identity of the sending MTA.)
NAMES Displays the names of some or all MTA objects in an OSI/MHS
subsystem. If you use the SUB option, this command lists the names of
the ROUTE objects subordinate to an MTA.
