PROCESS Objects
Types of PROCESS Objects
OSI/MHS defines five types of PROCESS objects: one for RS groups, one for MS
groups, and three for MR groups.
Naming PROCESS Objects
A PROCESS object name has the form:
system
is the name of the system (node) that runs the MHS manager process for this
OSI/MHS subsystem.
manager-process
is the name you have given the he MHS manager process (the MON object). This
name must be a letter followed by zero through three alphanumeric characters.
gsystem
is the name of the HP NonStop system—if different from the system that runs the
MHS manager process—on which you added the OSI/MHS group containing this
process. (gsystem should be the system where the MHS manager resides.)
Table 2-5. Types of PROCESS Objects
Type of Group PROCESS Object Description
GI GI process: communicates with MR processes
LO LO process: communicates with MS processes and with local user
agents
MR MR process: communicates with MS processes and—through the RTS
process in its group—with other MTAs
RTS process: acts as intermediary between the MR process in its group
and other MTAs
SC process: under the direction of the MHS manager, regularly deletes
obsolete messages from the PDU store used by the MR process in its
group
MS MS process: communicates with RS and MR processes, stores
messages, and communicates with MS APPL objects (user applications)
RS RS process: communicates with MS processes and with remote user
agents
