About This Manual
The OSI/MHS Configuration and Management Manual describes how to plan, install,
configure, manage, and maintain an Open Systems Interconnection/Message Handling
System (OSI/MHS) subsystem. This manual also describes how to use an OSI/MHS
subsystem with the following other HP products and facilities:
Distributed Systems Management (DSM)
Open Systems Interconnection/Application Services (OSI/AS)
Other subsystems that support OSI/MHS
Who Should Read This Manual?
This manual is for people who will plan, install, configure, run, manage, or operate an
OSI/MHS subsystem.
To use this manual effectively, all readers should be familiar with the following:
The International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee (CCITT) X.400
specifications for message handling systems, or the corresponding ISO standards
(ISO 10021-1 through 10021-7).
The CCITT X.200 specifications for the OSI Reference Model, or the
corresponding ISO standard (ISO 7498).
The standards for the Data Link Layer through the ACSE (Association Control
Service Element) of the Application Layer in the OSI Reference Model. (See
Table i in this section for the identification numbers of those documents.)
Use of Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) commands and objects within DSM.
The Event Management Service (EMS) within DSM.
Basic HP NonStop system architecture.
