Starting the Installation Procedure
RUN
is the command you use if the OSI/MHS ISV is not in your TACL #pmsearchlist.
ISV name
is the installation subvolume where your system manager has installed all the
OSI/MHS files.
MHSINST
is the name of the Install program.
outfile
is a file or spooler location in which all displays and responses are recorded.
INSTFILE
is a keyword that indicates that the next argument is the name of an installation
file.
inst-file
is the name of the installation file containing the keywords and their values..
If inst-file does not exist, you can create a prototype, using the installation
procedure, as follows.
Note. When you create an RDF (Remote Database Facility) in a backup system,
MHSINST provides an option called RDF that allows you to audit and change the
alternate file locations of all database files If you use MHSINST for this purpose, you
should not specify INSTFILE. For detailed information about how to use the RDF
option, see Appendix G, Remote Duplicate Database Facility (RDF) Support.
Note. A HELP option is available to provide you with information about the installation
procedure. To get help, enter the following:
[RUN] [ISV name.]MHSINST HELP
The file "<inst-file>“ does not exist.
File "<inst-file>" will be created with default contents if you wish.
