Description of the Installation in Progress
Items 1 through 14
The first 14 items on the installation menu have to do with copying ISVs and setting
security. Screen displays describe each step as it is carried out. The following is a
sample of the information given during the installation procedure.
Items 15 Through 27
The remaining items on the menu are yes or no steps; that is, they occur if they are
set to yes and do not occur if they are set to no. These installation steps are
performed by the following utilities:
File Utility Program (FUP)
SQL Command Interface (SQLCI)
SQL Compiler (SQLCOMP)
If you get an error message from one of these utilities during installation, check the
corresponding output file for diagnostic information.
As part of the compile step (the MS initialization and the SQL compile), TACL reports a
warning message. Check the TACL output to make sure that this warning is
acceptable.
15) Purge Old Executable Object Files.
This step purges all old executable object files. You should run this step when you
move to a new version of OSI/MHS; it is not necessary to run it for the initial
installation.
FUP is used to purge these files. If some of the files do not exist, FUP produces
warnings, but these do not affect the installation. If a FUP error occurs during the
purge, an appropriate error message is displayed and the installation stops.
16) Copy OSI/MHS ISV to OSI/MHS Subvolume.
This step copies a predefined set of files from the OSI/MHS ISV to the OSI/MHS
subvolume. You should run this step for a first-time installation or when you move to a
new version of OSI/MHS.
