What’s in This Manual?
A brief description of each section in the manual follows:
•
Section 1, Introduction to OSI/MHS, provides a brief overview of the components
and architecture of the OSI/MHS subsystem.
•
Section 2, Management Environment for OSI/MHS, describes the tools for
managing OSI/MHS. These tools include DSM, OSI/AS, and the SCF commands
and objects defined for OSI/MHS.
•
Section 3, Planning Your OSI/MHS Subsystem, describes the questions you need
to consider when planning an OSI/MHS subsystem.
•
Section 4, Installing Your OSI/MHS Subsystem, tells how to install the databases
and other files needed to operate OSI/MHS. It also tells how to migrate to the
current RVU of OSI/MHS.
•
Section 5, Configuring Your OSI/MHS Subsystem, provides basic explanations,
examples, and executable files for configuring and starting the processes of one or
more connected OSI/MHS subsystems.
•
Section 6, Starting, Stopping, and Updating Your OSI/MHS Subsystem, describes
how to start the MHS manager process through which all the other OSI/MHS
processes are defined, started, and managed. It also explains how to do an orderly
shutdown of an OSI/MHS subsystem.
•
Section 7, Managing Your OSI/MHS Subsystem, explains how to reconfigure the
subsystem online, manage the databases, manage the OSI/MHS objects, maintain
the OSI/AS interfaces, and use event messages.
