Configuring Your OSI/MHS Subsystem

5-6
APPL (Gateway) Object
ROUTE
SUBSYS
The order in which you will normally configure these object types is the following:
SUBSYS
CLASS
GROUP
PROCESS
GATEWAY
APPL
DLIST
DLISTMEMBER
CUG
CUGMEMBER
MTA
ROUTE
You need to define these object types to the MHS manager process according to their
positions in the object hierarchy. You must define your SUBSYS object before your
CLASS objects and each CLASS object before the GROUP objects it contains.
Likewise, you must define MTA objects before ROUTE objects. Also, you must define
MS GROUP objects before you define the APPL objects associated with them—even
though, technically, APPL objects are not subordinate to GROUP objects. Likewise,
you must define the GATEWAY object before you define the APPL objects associated
with it. The objects are defined in this order in the example developed in this section.
Each object has SCF attributes that define it. To make the sample MTA configuration
files simple to explain, only a subset of the attributes of each object is included here.
This subset has all the required attributes.
Below is a list of the object types mentioned in this section. This list is in alphabetical
order for easy reference. Following the name of each object type is a list describing its
attributes. Each attribute name is in uppercase letters; if an abbreviation of this name
is used in the MTA configuration diagrams, then that abbreviation is shown here in
parentheses, after the full name.
APPL (Gateway) Object
The gateway APPL object attributes used in these examples are:
•
ACCESS-TYPE (ACC-TYPE)—specifies the access type, which is GW for a
gateway APPL object.
•
ACCESS-NAME (ACC-NAME)—specifies the name of the GATEWAY object.
Note. The list of attributes described below is not complete; it includes only the more important
attributes of each object. For economy of space, the configuration diagrams do not show
every attribute used in the sample configuration files. For complete descriptions of all
OSI/MHS objects and attributes, see the OSI/MHS SCF Reference Manual.
