Defining External Password Servers
4. If your subsystem includes gateways, define and start the entry managers and wait
manager before starting the GI groups. The entry and wait managers are server
processes that are used with gateway associations.
Each of these steps is described in detail below.
Defining External Password Servers
You can write an external password server by using the OSI/MHS management
programming commands. See the OSI/MHS Management Programming Manual for
more information and examples of external password servers. You can use TACL to
start the password server process.
As an alternative, you can write and compile an external password server using C,
TAL, or another supported language. You can then define the password server as a
Pathway server and run it under PATHCOM. For additional information, see the
NonStop TS/MP and Pathway Management Reference Manual.
Specifying MHS Manager Startup Commands
To specify MHS manager startup commands, you can use SCF commands, RUN
command options, or PARAM command parameters. The SCF commands are
described in the OSI/MHS SCF Reference Manual and in Section 2, Management
Environment for OSI/MHS.
The RUN command options and the PARAM command parameters are listed below.
Note that the RUN command options are the same as those allowed by TACL;
however, only the RUN options that are relevant to OSI/MHS are described here. For
more information, see the TACL Reference Manual.
