RS Class Attributes
reorganizing the message store and mailboxes. Adding MS groups and distributing
mailboxes across them can alleviate bottlenecks.
For descriptions of the MS class attributes, see the OSI/MHS SCF Reference Manual.
RS Class Attributes
For best performance results, use the defaults for the RS class attributes. For
descriptions of the RS class attributes, see the OSI/MHS SCF Reference Manual.
SUBSYS Attributes
The location of the databases that contain route, association, adjacent MTA, CUG, and
DLIST information can affect information access time and processing time for message
delivery.
GROUP Attributes
Efficient access to PDU stores and work subvolumes is determined by their proximity
to the processes accessing them. Partitioning PDU stores means that smaller chunks
of data can be accessed at any one time and that different chunks can be stored in
different places to allow concurrent access.
Catalogs and Databases
The distribution of MS catalogs, registration databases, and configuration databases
affects the access of these files. All MS files and catalogs must be in the same
subvolume. Configuration databases, registration databases, CUG files, and DLIST
files can be put on another disk to optimize disk access.
Tuning Supporting Software
The configuration of supporting software can affect the performance of OSI/MHS, as
discussed in Configuring Supporting Software
on page 8-7. The next several
paragraphs tell you where to find more information about the configuration of various
subsystems on which OSI/MHS depends.
OSI Services
The OSI services consist of TAPS and TSP objects. The way TAPS is configured
affects RTS and RS in OSI/MHS. For information about TAPS, refer to the OSI/AS
Configuration and Management Manual.
TSP can be configured to improve RTS and RS use of OSI/AS and OSI/TS services.
For information about TSP, refer to the OSI/TS Configuration and Management
Manual.
