Table 9-1 and Table 9-2 summarize the OSI/MHS attributes used in association
establishment and indicates relationships among the attributes.
For the MTAs to establish an association, the underlying OSI subsystems must also
have matching configurations. For information about the proper configuration of the
OSI services to support OSI/MHS connections, see Appendix D, OSI Address
Configuration in OSI/MHS.

REM-MAX-MSG-LEN MTA Value must equal or exceed the length of the
message to be sent.

NAME for this MTA on responder side.
LOC-P-SELECTOR-n MTA Value must match a value of REM-P-
SELECTOR for this MTA on responder side.
LOC-S-SELECTOR-n MTA Value must match a value of REM-S-

remote MTA in a bind request.
REM-THEIR-PASSWD-RSP MTA Value must match password returned by the
responding MTA in a bind response.
REM-LOGON-VALIDATION MTA Value must match responder’s value.
PASSW-SERVER MTA If value is ON, a valid name must be specified
for MTA-BIND-PW-SVR; value need not be the
same in initiator and responder.
MTA-BIND-PW-SVR SUBSYS Specified only if PASSW-SVR is ON.
