Problem Reporting
value of 0. The unroute reason codes are described in the OSI/MHS Management
Programming Manual and contained in the following list:
In this case, the report was not routable because there was no route defined for the
originator’s O/R name; this fact is also reflected in the nondelivery reason code and
diagnostic.
The corrective action for unroutable messages or reports depends on the unroutable
reason code, the nondelivery reason code, and the nondelivery diagnostic code. In
this case, the solution is probably to define an appropriate ROUTE object.
Problem Reporting
If you have ruled out all configuration errors and wish to report an unroutable report
event for further investigation, provide the following information to your HP
representative:
•
EMS logs, including accounting events.
•
Information on the OSI/MHS configuration, particularly the MTA, ROUTE, and
APPL objects.
•
A display of the unroutable PDU, if available. (Your HP representative might be
able to help you obtain this display with the aid of specialized diagnostic software.)
Effects on the System
The effect of an unroutable message or report is that the message is not delivered to
the intended recipient, the message or report remains in the PDU store, and the
message or report is not deleted by the store cleaner.
If the problem persists, or if many other routing problems occur, a large portion of the
PDU store can eventually be taken up by these unroutable PDUs. For this reason, it is
best to be aggressive about correcting configuration problems that result in routing
