Network Types and Routing Requirements
Here are some examples of possible O/R name attributes for a configuration that has
five message-store users, a gateway for X.121, and one adjacent MTA. In the list
below, C is country name, A is ADMD name, P is PRMD name, O is organization
name, U is organizational unit name, P is personal name, D is domain-defined
attribute, and x is X.121 address. The hyphen (-) means that no value is specified.
Whenever you add a ROUTE, DLIST, or APPL object, an entry is added to the routing
database. These entries ensure that the routing algorithm searches for local as well as
remote users.
A special type of record is added to the routing database when an APPL object is
defined for a local user. In addition to the record representing that user, OSI/MHS
defines a null route for an O/R name consisting of a country name (C), ADMD (A),
PRMD (P), and organization name (O). If you define another APPL using a different
organization name attribute, another null route is added to the database. (The
attributes C, A, and P are normally the same for all APPL objects.)
Figure E-2 illustrates the routing algorithm based on O/R name.
