Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)
The following paragraphs describe the roles of SCF, SCP, EMS, PTrace, and
ViewPoint in the OSI/MHS management environment.
Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)
SCF is a DSM product that provides a common management interface for a variety of
HP NonStop data communications products, including OSI/MHS. You use SCF
commands to configure and control OSI/MHS objects and to obtain status information
from the OSI/MHS subsystem.
SCF communicates with the OSI/MHS subsystem through a management process
called the Subsystem Control Point (SCP). SCP passes the commands on to the MHS
manager process.
The description of the SCF command interface later in this section gives an overview
of the SCF commands and objects that apply to OSI/MHS. The Subsystem Control
