APPL Objects
DELETE For message-store APPL objects:
Deletes an OSI/MHS APPL object definition from the MS user and
routing databases.
You must delete all user applications attached to an MS group before
you delete the MS.
Before deleting a user application, you must stop it. However, before
you stop it, you might want to suspend it for a while. This prevents
the MS from accepting new messages addressed to the application’s
UA, while giving the UA time to retrieve old messages before you
deny it access permanently.
If you want to delete a user application regardless of whether its UA
still has messages to retrieve, use the DELETE command with the
MAX option. This action will delete any leftover messages as well.
If the UA has no messages to retrieve, you could use the DELETE
command with the NORMAL option or omit both NORMAL and MAX
(since NORMAL is the default). If the UA does have messages to
retrieve, the NORMAL option causes the command to fail with an
error message.
Caution. If the PDU store of an MS group contains X.400 messages when you delete the
group, the messages are lost.
For gateway APPL objects:
You must delete all APPL objects associated with a GATEWAY object
before you can delete the GATEWAY object.
INFO Lists the attribute values for an OSI/MHS APPL object—except the
password given by the attribute USER-PASSWORD.
NAMES Displays the names of some or all of the APPL objects in an OSI/MHS
subsystem.
When used for the APPL object type, this command never displays
names for any other object type, because an APPL object has no
subordinate objects.
START Changes the state of an APPL object from STOPPED to STARTED.
STATS Displays accumulated statistics on messages stored and deleted for
an APPL object.
This command resets the statistics counters if you include the RESET
option.
