Operational Notes
ADD APPL is a sensitive command. In addition, it requires the process that
executes it to be running either under the super ID or under the same group and user
ID as the MHS manager.
Before you add an MS APPL object, the MS GROUP object with which it will be
associated must exist (have been added).
Before you add a GW APPL object, the GATEWAY object with which it will be
associated must exist.
When you add an APPL object, it is left in a STOPPED state. Incoming messages
with this application named as a recipient will be rejected with nondelivery
notification (NDN) until the APPL object is placed in the STARTED state.
You must provide sufficient O/R name parameters to differentiate this APPL object
from all other APPL objects or the command will be rejected.
OSI/MHS does not perform validation on elements of O/R names. This allows you
to specify partial O/R names as generic APPL objects. Generic APPL objects must
not contain PERSONAL-NAME or COMMON-NAME attributes.
The duplicate suppression service provided by OSI/MHS should not be configured
for generic MS APPL objects.
