ADD APPL
You cannot specify both a wildcarded X121-ADDR and a wildcarded NUMERIC-
USER-IDENTIFIER address for the same APPL(i.e., only one or the other of the
attributes can be wildcarded).
The message retrieval attributes determine what criteria can be used to retrieve a
message from a mailbox. Each message is retrievable only by those attributes that
were set ON when the message was stored. Changing an attribute from OFF to ON
affects the retrieval criteria for subsequent messages, but has no effect on previously
stored messages.
For ZUSER-PASSW, if the ZMS-PSWD-SVR attribute has been configured for the
APPL object’s MS group (that is, the group specified in ZMHS-TKN-ACCESS-
NAME), the specified password is sent to the configured MS bind password server
so that it can validate and store the password. In this case, a NULL password is
stored in the User database. The MS bind password server is responsible for
maintaining and validating the password.
Note that a remote MS APPL object also can change the value of this password,
using the register-MS service.
Delivery controls for messages containing the built-in encoded information types
(EITs) defined in the 1984 standard are configured by setting the following fields:
ZDEL-EIT-G3FAX
ZDEL-EIT-IA5TEXT
ZDEL-EIT-SFD
ZDEL-EIT-TIF0
ZDEL-EIT-TIF1
ZDEL-EIT-TLX
ZDEL-EIT-VIDEOTEXT
ZDEL-EIT-VOICE
Delivery controls of messages containing the external EITs resulting from the EDI
body parts are configured by setting the following fields:
ZDEL-EDI-EDIFACT-*
ZDEL-EDI-ANSIX12-*
ZDEL-EDI-ZDEL-EDI-UNTID-*
ZDEL-EDI-PRIVATE-OCTET-*
ZDEL-EDI-UNDEFINED-OCTECT-*
Delivery of messages with other external EITs is controlled through the field
ZDEL-EIT-UNSPECIFIED:
For MS APPLS or 1988 gateway APPLs, if this field has a value of ZMHS-VAL-
FLAG-ON, it will accept messages that cannot be configured as built-in or EDI
EITs.
For 1984 gateway APPLs, if this field has a value of ZMHS-VAL-FLAG-ON, it
will accept messages with an EIT of UNDEFINED/UNSPECIFIED. There are
two reasons why a message to a 1984 APPL may contain an
undefined/unspecified EIT. First, the originator of the message may have set the
EIT to be unspecified/undefined. Second, the message may have been external.
In accordance with CCITT recommendations, all external messages are
automatically downgraded to unspecified/undefined for relay to a 1984 gateway.
