Master Password Server Process
The Master Password Server process provides two major functions:
Permitting a master user, with a corresponding “master password,to perform
operations on the mailboxes of other users
Validating user passwords in connection with MS Bind and Register-MS requests
from remote and local user agents
Once a master user is defined, either the master password or the APPL password can be
used for access to a mailbox, and the master user can perform any operation the mailbox
owner could perform, except to change the password. The master user can also bind to
its own mailbox, using its O/R name (for instance, to change the master password). For
security reasons, there are options to prohibit the master user from binding or registering
under its own name.

Note. If the master user performs any fetch or list operations on another user's mailbox, then
the entry-status of the messages examined will be updated even though the owner of the
mailbox has not examined the messages.
