Where to Look
Where to Look
Compaq provides a set of manuals and courses to help you learn about Distributed
Systems Management and the task of management programming. In addition to those
manuals and educational materials, you are likely to need information of the following
types:
•
Policy statements from your own company regarding its billing policies and
practices
•
Manuals for the C and possibly TAL programming languages, and NonStop
programming manuals
If you are interested in writing other types of management applications, you will also
need the management programming manuals for other products you use, such as the
other OSI products and the Transaction Monitoring Facility. (Management
programming manuals are easy to identify: almost all of them have the words
“Management Programming” in their titles.)
Manuals and Media Guide
Table 1-15 includes Compaq manuals and educational media that help you develop
accounting and billing applications for OSI/MHS. Items are listed in one possible
reading order, but you will certainly find yourself moving back and forth among the
manuals as you work.
In the table, represents a manual, represents a videotape, represents a
workbook, represents a lecture course, and represents information available to
Compaq technical support personnel through the Courier application.
