ADD MTA Command
REM-TSELECTOR-(1-7)
defines the T-selector part of the adjacent MTA’s OSI address. This value identifies
a transport layer entity. It is a hexadecimal string with a maximum of 64 characters,
and the string must contain an even number of characters. If you specify the
attribute name without any characters in the address, this part of the address is
unused.
X121-COUNTRY-NAME
specifies the X.121 country name of the MTA. It has a length of three numeric
characters. This attribute is present for information purposes only.
Considerations
•
You can configure up to 800 MTA objects per OSI/MHS subsystem.
•
The following attributes control password generation and validation:
If the PASSW-SERVER attribute is ON, OSI/MHS uses the password server
process specified in the SUBSYS object's MTA-BIND-PW-SVR attribute. In this
case, the REM-LOGON-VALIDATION attribute must be OFF, and REM-OUR-
PASSW, REM-OUR-PASSW-RSP, REM-THEIR-PASSW, and REM-THEIR-
PASSW-RSP must not be specified.
OSI/MHS does not do any cross-checking between the SUBSYS object's MTA-
BIND-PW-SVR attribute and the MTA object's PASSW-SERVER attribute. If
PASSW-SERVER is ON and the MTA-BIND-PW-SVR attribute is not configured,
any attempt to establish an association results in an EMS event message (ZMHS-
EVT-NO-MTA-PW-SVR).
If LOGON-VALIDATION is ON, OSI/MHS uses the passwords specified by the
REM-OUR-PASSW, REM-THEIR-PASSW-RSP, REM-THEIR-PASSW, and
REM-OUR-PASSW-RSP attributes.
If PASSW-SERVER and LOGON-VALIDATION are both OFF, no password
validation is done.
•
The OSI address attributes are specified in pairs. Each pair describes the OSI/MHS
address and the OSI address of the adjacent MTA. You can specify seven pairs of
addresses. You can add pairs by using -2, -3, and so on as suffixes to the address
MTA object attributes:
PASSW-SERVER
REM-LOGON-VALIDATION
REM-OUR-PASSW
REM-THEIR-PASSW-RSP
REM-THEIR-PASSW
REM-OUR-PASSW-RSP
SUBSYS object attributes:
