ALTER APPL Command
ALTER APPL Command
The ALTER APPL command changes the attributes of an application. This is a
sensitive command.
OUT file-spec
directs any SCF output generated for this command to the specified file.
[\psystem.]$proc.#applname
is the name of the APPL object to be altered.
attribute-spec
is a specification of an attribute and a value to be assigned to it.
The attribute-spec for the ALTER APPL command is identical to that of the
ADD APPL command listed earlier in this section with the exceptions listed in
“Considerations” below.
Considerations
The ACCESS-TYPE and ACCESS-NAME attributes cannot be altered.
All alterable attributes are optional.
The APPL object must be in the STOPPED state prior to any attempt to alter it.
The OSI-address attributes APPL-PSELECTOR, APPL-SSELECTOR, APPL-
TSELECTOR, and APPL-NSAP can be specified only if the MS-BIND-PW-SVR
attribute has been specified for the MS group to which the APPL object belongs.
If DUPL-SUPRN is altered to ON and DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW is omitted, the
default value of 2,880 minutes is assumed for DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW.
If DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW is altered to any legal value and DUPL-SUPRN is
omitted, the default value ON is assumed for DUPL-SUPRN.
For an access-type MS APPL object, if a retrieval attribute is present as a retrieval
default (for either LIST or FETCH) and an attempt is made to alter the retrieval-
attribute value to OFF when the SET-RTVL-DEFAULTS attribute value is OFF, the
ALTER command is rejected with an error message MHS E00022 (see Appendix B,
OSI/MHS SCF Error Messages, for a description of this error message).
You can specify individual O/R name values as a single asterisk without quotation
marks (*) to indicate that the element is not used as part of the O/R name. For more
information, refer to Wild-Card Notation in O/R Names on page 1-10.
