ALTER MTA Command
ALTER MTA Command
The ALTER MTA command changes the configuration of an adjacent MTA. This is a
sensitive command.
OUT file-spec
directs any SCF output generated for this command to the specified file.
[\psystem.]$proc.#mta
is the name of the MTA object to be altered.
attribute-spec
is a specification of an attribute and a value to be assigned to it. The attribute-
spec for the ALTER MTA command is identical to that of the ADD MTA
command listed earlier in this section with the exceptions listed in “Considerations”
below:
Considerations
The MTA must be in the STOPPED state before attributes can be altered.
ISO-COUNTRY-NAME, REM-ADMD, REM-MTA-NAME, and REM-PRMD
cannot be altered.
All of the attributes are optional with this exception: if REM-LOGON-
VALIDATION is ON, then you must specify REM-OUR-PASSW and REM-
THEIR-PASSW.
You can specify pairs of OSI addresses or elements within OSI addresses as not in
use by specifying the address name with no accompanying value.
See the ADD MTA command “Considerations” for the restrictions on legal
combinations of attributes; these restrictions also apply to the ALTER MTA
command.
Example
This command alters an MTA attribute:
ALTER MTA $ZMHS.#NEWYORK, REM-NSAP-1 470010060210
ALTER [ / OUT file-spec / ] MTA [\psystem.]$proc.#mta
