Syntax Variables in OSI/MHS Commands
string
depending on where used, represents:
a string of numeric characters (0 through 9)
a string of alphabetic characters (A through Z). If enclosed in quote marks, it
can include these additional special characters: space and ’ ( ) + , - . / : = ?
a string of alphanumeric characters (A through Z, 0 through 9). If enclosed in
quote marks, it can include these special characters: space and ’ ( ) + , - . / : = ?
To preserve the case of the characters, the string must be entered within quotation
marks. If quotation marks are not used, all characters will be changed to uppercase.
subvolume
specifies the volume and subvolume of the indicated file(s) or databases.
subvolume is of the form [\node.]vol.svol. The current volume or
subvolume is assumed if vol or svol are absent, unless otherwise indicated.
time
is a sequence of numeric characters.
