ADD APPL Command
in its databases; they are simply passed through to the external password server when an
APPL object is added or altered.
APPL-NSAP
specifies the NSAP portion of the APPL object’s OSI calling address. This value
has a maximum length of 40 characters. This attribute can be specified only if the
MS-BIND-PW-SERVER attribute for the MS group to which the APPL object
belongs has been specified.
APPL-PSELECTOR
specifies the P-selector portion of the APPL object’s calling OSI address. This value
has a maximum length of 32 characters. This attribute can be specified only if the
MS-BIND-PW-SERVER attribute for the MS group to which the APPL object
belongs has been specified.
APPL-SSELECTOR
specifies the S-selector portion of the APPL object’s calling OSI address. This value
has a maximum length of 32 characters. This attribute can be specified only if the
MS-BIND-PW-SERVER attribute for the MS group to which the APPL object
belongs has been specified.
APPL-TSELECTOR
specifies the T-selector portion of the APPL object’s calling OSI address. This
value has a maximum length of 64 characters. This attribute can be specified only if
the MS-BIND-PW-SERVER attribute for the MS group to which the APPL object
belongs has been specified.
The message duplication suppression attributes follow. These attributes are used to
control the suppression of duplication service provided for MS APPL objects. This local
(non-X.400) service detects duplicate messages and reports delivered to the MS (using
the message/report identifier field of the message/report). Duplicate messages are then
discarded by the MS.

Note. If communication with the APPL object is over X.25 (1980), you must specify the ASCII
equivalent of the DTE address for the APPL object in this attribute. For example, if the DTE
address is 12345, you must specify “3132333435”.
