ADD APPL Command
DUPL-SUPRN
specifies whether duplicate message and report suppression is enabled (ON) or
disabled (OFF) for the MS APPL object. The default value is OFF.
DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW
specifies the minimum length of time that duplicate suppression is enforced for an
individual message or report received by the MS APPL object. This is the minimum
length of time OSI/MHS retains the context of a message or report delivered to the
MS APPL object for the purpose of detecting duplicates. The time period is
measured beginning with the time the first copy of a particular message or report is
received by the MS APPL object.
time is specified as minutes in the range from 1 through 28,800 (20 days). The
default value is 2,880 (2 days).
If DUPL-SUPRN is OFF, DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW is meaningless and is ignored
if specified.
If DUPL-SUPRN is ON, and DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW is omitted, the default
value (2,880 minutes) is assumed for DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW.
If a value for DUPL-SUPRN-WINDOW is specified and DUPL-SUPRN is omitted,
the default value (ON) is assumed for DUPL-SUPRN.
Considerations
Before you add the first MS APPL object, the MS GROUP object with which it will
be associated must exist (have been added).
Before you add a GW APPL object, the GATEWAY object with which it will be
associated must exist.
You must provide sufficient O/R name parameters to differentiate this APPL object
from all other APPL objects or the command will be rejected.
See Section 1, Introduction, for information about using wild-cards in O/R object
names and command attributes.
A single APPL object can represent multiple X.400 users if you specify only the part
of the O/R name attribute common to these users.
OSI/MHS does not perform validation on combinations of attribute names. This
allows you to specify partial O/R names as generic APPL objects that are used by
gateways. Generic APPLs are used to identity a set of users within a particular
organization. Generic APPL objects must not contain PERSONAL-NAME or
COMMON-NAME attributes.
If none of the encoded information type attributes are specified, the APPL object can
receive only IA5TEXT messages. The default is that EIT-CHECK is ON,
ENCODED-INFO-TYPE-IA5TEXT is ON, and the remaining information type
attributes are OFF.
