This is the second edition of the Tandem OSI/TS Management Programming Manual.
This manual documents interactive interface to the C30 release of the Tandem Open
Systems Interconnection/Transport Services (OSI/TS). This manual also contains
additional enhancements to the previous edition. The following subsection
summarizes these changes.
Subsystem Changes Changes to the interactive interface to the OSI/TS subsystem are as follows:
This release runs on both Tandem C-series and D-series systems—compatibility
issues are explained. New tokens for the D-series systems are documented.
New PROCESS and SERVICE attributes have been added that previously only
available at process startup (through PARAMs).
Additional fields have been added to the STATISTICS PROCESS and to the
STATUS SU commands.
Local SNPA addresses are now automatically obtained by the TSP process and
need not be configured into the SUs.
The inclusion of NSAP addresses in X.25 calls are now made optional when
IPX25SNDCF is used.
Manual Enhancements Enhancements to the manual are as follows:
There is a new table in the “About This Manual” section that summarizes the tasks
that are provided in each of the seven manuals for the Tandem OSI/AS and
Tandem OSI/TS products.
Several of the attributes have been renamed to improved usability. These changes
maintains backward compatibility: existing programs or command files will still
work with the original name. Appendix D summarizes these changes.
Subsystem-specific descriptions of all ZCOM event messages that can be returned
by OSI/TS were added to Section 6.
Appendix E, "OSI/TS SCF Status Su X.25 Values," is a new appendix that contains
values for three fields in the detailed STATUS SU display.
The abbreviations and glossary sections have been updated.
