OSI/TS Management Programming Manual
Data Communications Standard Definitions
Common Definitions
4–4 056786 Tandem Computers Incorporated
Descriptions of the SPI standard definitions as they apply to all subsystems are given
in the Distributed Systems Management (DSM) Programming Manual. For all but two of
the definitions listed in Tables 4-1 and 4-2, the information in that manual suffices to
describe their use by OSI/TS. Subsystem-specific information for those two
definitions is given in the following paragraphs.
ZSPI-TKN-SSID
when used in OSI/TS commands, has the value ZOS4-VAL-SSID. This value
identifies the OSI/TS subsystem. The structure of ZOS4-VAL-SSID is given under
“OSI/TS Standard Definitions” later in this section.
ZSPI-TKN-MANAGER
specifies the particular OSI/TS subsystem process to which a command is
directed. SCP will forward the command to that process. This token is optional in
all OSI/TS commands on C-series systems. The equivalent token for D-series
systems is the ZCOM-TKN-XMGR token. See Table 4-8 “Data Communications
Standard Definitions for Simple Tokens,” later in this section.
Data Communications
Standard Definitions
Definitions whose names begin with ZCOM are data communications standard
definitions. These definitions are used by all Tandem data communications
subsystems that support DSM; they are provided in the ZSPIDEF.ZCOMDDL file and
in the corresponding files for other languages.
Table 4-6 through 4-10 list the data communications standard definitions used in the
management programming interfaces to the OSI/TS subsystem. These definitions
consist of command numbers; object types; simple tokens used in OSI/TS commands,
responses, and event messages; extensible structured tokens; and token and field
values, including summary states.
These tables do not list data communications error numbers or definitions used only in
error lists. For a description of all data communications standard definitions and error
numbers, refer to the Communications Management Programming Manual.
