Considerations for the FILTER Command
[NO]NETIOINTERNALS
displays internal operation traces of the subnetwork interface. This includes the
following trace records:
NETIO Pool—Allocate
NETIO Pool—Deallocate
NONETIOINTERNALS suppresses the display of this information. The default is
NONETIOINTERNALS.
This information is primarily for use by Compaq analysts in troubleshooting the
Compaq OSI/TS software.
NETIOSU [ su-name ]
Displays the subnetwork interface trace information for the specified X25AM SU or
TLAM (for D-series, or PAM subsystems for G06 and above releases) ports. You
can use this filter to limit the display of the NETIO records to a specific X25AM SU
or TLAM (for D-series, or PAM subsystems for G06 and above releases) PORT. If
you omit the su-name, you select all X25AM SUs and TLAM (for D-series, or
PAM subsystems for G06 and above releases) ports. The default is NETIOSU
(select all SUs).
Considerations for the FILTER Command
The considerations contain information about command use that should be read before
studying the command syntax in too much detail.
The default filter values should provide all the information you will need to debug
your program.
You must select a trace file with the PTrace FROM command before setting filter
options.
You cannot filter on events not included in the trace file options. For example, if the
SCF TRACE command only selected L4 events, it would not make sense to set L3
filter-options as no L3 information would be present in the file.
You cannot filter on events not included in the SELECT options. For example, you
must specify the SELECT option L4 (or ALL), to be able to select any of the L4
filter-options.
FILTER MSGSU applies to TSP SUs only. It does not affect the selection of
X25AM SUs or TLAM (for D-series, or PAM subsystems for G06 and above
releases) ports.
FILTER NETIOSU applies to X25AM SUs or to TLAM (for D-series, or PAM
subsystems for G06 and above releases) ports only. It does not affect the selection
of TSP SUs.
FILTER L4SU will select those records (for example, TPDU) that can be mapped to
a TSP SU with the same name.
