OSM Migration and Configuration Guide—527273-021
1-4
Preparing for OSM Migration
The NonStop server has the prerequisite SPRs required for your RVU:
* There is an optional SPR that is recommended for improved OSM performance.
NSK CRE/RTL (T1269), available on G06.15 and later SUTs, offers more efficient
heap management, which improves OSM performance during periods of peak
processor usage. For more information on OSM performance, including
workarounds to consider if T1269 is not feasible for your environment, see Support
Note S03133C, “OSM Performance Considerations.”
RVU Migration
If needed, migrate to the desired RVU.
For more information on upgrading server software, see:

RVU Migration Tip: If you are migrating from a pre-G06.10 RVU to G06.10 or
later, a system load may be required before you can use OSM (because of a
prerequisite SPR). If you are using a console on which TSM is already installed
and configured, you can eliminate the extra system load by using TSM to perform
the RVU migration tasks (such as upgrading SP firmware, processor boot
millicode, or SCSI boot code), perform the required system load, then start using
OSM.
RVU
Required SPRs
G06.10 Requires many SPRs, see Prerequisite SPRs for OSM
G06.11-G06.20 T1089ABK (SP)*
G06.21-G06.23 No additional SPRs required*
G06.24 and later T0648AAA (Part Number Translation Table)*
Note. If you already have a pre-G06.25 version of OSM installed on the server, see the
notes regarding Obsolete OSM SPRs under Installing, Configuring, and Starting OSM on
the Server.
