Installing and Configuring OSM on the System
Console
Adjusting the processor priority rating assigned to OSM processes relative to
other applications.
Enabling Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is required for using HP SIM in
the NonStop environment. (See Enabling Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
For more information on these and other optional OSM configuration parameters,
how to create and use an OSMCONF file, and how to reload configuration settings
to make OSM configuration changes take effect after OSM server is already
running, see Creating and Using an OSMCONF File. (OSMCONF file changes
made before starting OSM processes will automatically take effect when the
processes are started.)
Start OSM server processes.
Use this TACL command to invoke the OSM Configuration script and start the
OSM persistent processes:
RUN $SYSTEM.ZOSM.ADDTOSCF
For more information on OSM processes and server-based files, see Other OSM
Server Processes.
Installing and Configuring OSM on the System Console
Install the latest OSM client-based components on the console.
While OSM client components are installed by default on all new system console
shipments, you can get the very latest client components from the NonStop
System Console (NSC) Installer CD.
Starting with G06.24, the following OSM client-based components replaced the
T2752 client component released with earlier RVUs:
OSM Low-Level Link (T0633)
OSM Notification Director (T0632)
OSM Console Tools (T0634), which installs Start menu shortcuts and default
home pages for ease in accessing the OSM Service Connection and OSM
Event Viewer. While not necessary for accessing these applications, the home
pages display bookmarks for easy access to your systems and automatically
create bookmarks from your existing TSM system list.
For more information on installing system console software, see the NonStop
System Console Installer Guide.
Note. The OSM Service Connection and OSM Event Viewer applications are not installed
on the system console. They are browser-based applications that reside on the server and
are accessed on the console through Internet Explorer browser sessions.
