OSM Migration Guide
Abstract
This guide introduces the HP NonStop™ Open System Management (OSM) Interface.
It is intended for anyone who uses OSM to monitor or service an HP NonStop S-series
server. It describes OSM requirements; how to migrate from Compaq TSM to OSM
(including coexistence and fallback issues); and how to install, configure, and start
OSM server components and processes.

OSM server components have been combined into a single SPR, T0682AAA, which:

Replaces the eight individual OSM SPRs Obsoleted by T0682
(see the T0682 softdoc for more information on improved processor utilization and
other OSM Service Connection fixes and improvements).
•
Features a new method for Propagation of Subcomponent Problems on parent
objects in the tree pane of the OSM Service Connection.
•
Enabling Automatic Data Collection is no longer done in the OSMCONF file. See
the T0682 softdoc for the current status of data collection services; see the OSM
User’s Guide for implementation-level details.
