Configure Modem for Dial-In and Dial-Out
For information on connecting a modem to your NonStop system console, see the
NonStop S-Series Hardware Installation and FastPath Guide. To configure the modem:
1. Power off the system console.
2. For the MultiTech MT2834BA or BL modems check that the switches are as
follows:
Beware of a label on the modem itself as it shows information for switch 3 twice on
some of the modems. If you have changed any switches, power cycle the modem.
3. Connect the modem to the system console on COM1 (Compaq iPAQ PCs only
have 1 COM port), with the following exceptions:
•
The EVO D510 has no COM ports; connect to the front USB Port instead.
•
The EVO D530 has no COM ports; connect to the rear USB Port instead.
4. Power on the modem; then power on the system console.
Note. There is a step at which you are required to contact the GCSC in order for incident
reports to successfully dial-out.
