of a resource. For example: GRP-2.MOD-1.SLOT-8.
Physical view
One of several views available in the view pane of the Management window. The
Physical view of a server is a view of all the enclosures and is intended to represent the
actual floor plan at the site. A Physical view of an enclosure is a visual representation of
the physical location of supported resources inside the enclosure. A Physical view of an
Expand network is a visual representation of the connections and resources within a
network such as a ServerNet cluster.
See also Inventory view.
plug-in card
A replaceable component that provides a unique function when installed in a CRU or
FRU. For example, plug-in cards for IOMF2 CRUs provide a choice of connection media
for attaching ServerNet cables.
port
A physical connector to which a cable can be attached. The system transmits and receives
data or requests through ports. A port is also called a connector.
port name
A 64-bit unique identifier assigned to each Fibre Channel port. The port_name is
communicated during the login and port discovery processes.
power domain
A set of customer-replaceable units (CRUs) and field-replaceable units (FRUs) that share
a set of power rails.
power interface board (PIB)
A board mounted on the bulkhead located behind the power supplies in NonStop S7x000
and S7400 processor enclosures. The PIB provides electrical connection between the
power supplies and DC power cables.
power monitor and control unit (PMCU) FRU
A FRU (field-replaceable unit) that connects the batteries to the DC power distribution
bus in an enclosure and provides a means of disconnecting the batteries for powering off
the system. The PMCU also enables the service processor to diagnose the condition of
the associated fan and power supply and to regulate the voltage supplied to the fans. It
also provides the interface to the group identification switches and service LEDs. There
are two PMCUs in each group, one for each of the two DC power distribution buses.
power supply
In system enclosures without power shelves, the component that converts standard AC
line voltage into the DC voltages needed by the group components in the enclosure.
