SWAN / SWAN2
The ServerNet wide area network (SWAN) concentrator CRU is an external communications device that connects to
a system through dual Ethernet ports. It supports both synchronous and asynchronous protocols over a variety of
electrical interfaces.The SWAN CRU object displayed by OSM can be either a SWAN or SWAN 2 CRU. To distinguish
between them, look at their subcomponents.
Each SWAN CRU contains up to three CLIPs, each of which contains two SWAN Paths and two WAN Lines, giving
each SWAN CRU as many as six WAN ports.
Each SWAN 2 CRU contains these subcomponents:
• Up to six SWAN 2 CLIPs, each of which contains two SWAN Paths and two WAN Lines, giving each SWAN 2
CRU as many as twelve WAN ports
• Two LAN Logic Board CRUs
• Two Fan CRUs
• Two Power Supply CRUs
• One Battery

Slot Location: WAN CRUs are external to the enclosures.

Service State
Physical
The part number of the component that was assigned in manufacturing. Use part
numbers for identifying and ordering parts.
Part Number
A unique serial number that identifies the component.Track IDs are used for tracking
components.
Track ID
A code that identifies the generation of the component. Hardware revision codes are
used for tracking components.
Hardware Revision
Logical
The type of SWAN concentrator.
Values: Synchronous or Firmware Controlled
Adapter Type
The state of the SWAN concentrator CRU as known to the operating system.
Values: Started, Stopped, Starting, Stopping, Aborted, Aborting, Out Of Service,
Unknown, Not Configured
Adapter State
The primary host IP address configured for the SWAN concentrator.Primary Host IP Address
The alternate host IP address configured for the SWAN concentrator.Alternate Host IP Address
The primary TCP/IP process configured for the SWAN concentrator.
Example: $ZTCP2
Primary TCP/IP Process
The alternate TCP/IP process configured for the SWAN concentrator.
Example: $ZTCP1
Alternate TCP/IP Process
The name of the subnet mask configured for the primary host IP address for the
SWAN concentrator.
Example: 255.255.255.0
Primary Subnet Mask
The name of the subnet mask configured for the Alternate host IP address for the
SWAN concentrator.
Example: 255.255.255.0
