4 Policies
4-1 Configuring Policies
Console enables you to add new policies through the New policy option in the Policies menu and
edit active policies through the Edit active policy option in the Policies menu. Alternatively policies
can also be added through the New Policy option in the right-click menu of the Management pane
and edited through its Edit option.
Selecting the New policy option in the Policies menu displays the New Policy dialog box. Whereas
selecting the Edit active policy in the Policies menu displays the Edit Policy dialog box. The fields of
New Policy dialog box and Edit Policy dialog box are similar in all respects.

General Tab Page
The General tab page is displayed by default. You can configure the following options using the tab
page.
• Policy Name
The Policy Name box enables you to specify the policy name. You can either select the names
from the drop-down list or enter a new one.
• Event Source
The Event Source drop-down list enables you to select the EMS Event source.
• Policy Group
The Policy Group box enables you to specify a group for the new policy. You can either select
the names from the list or enter a new one.
• Window Title
The Window Title text box enables you to specify the Event View window title. The default value
is Untitled.
