OVNM 5.3 - Operations Agent for NonStop Object Reference Guide
Threshold Policies 113
2-17 RDF
RDF monitors the changes made to a production database on a local (primary) system and maintains a copy of
that database on one or more remote (backup) systems. It applies changes to the backup database as soon as
they are detected on the primary system; RDF keeps the backup database continuously up to date with changes
made by business applications on the primary system. You are therefore able to switch your business operations
from the primary system to the backup system with minimal interruption and loss of data in the event of planned
or unplanned outages of the primary system.
The thresholds in this subsystem allow you to monitor the activities of RDF to make sure it is operating as you
expect to reduce the chance of any data loss or extended RDF recoveries.

Description

ERROR
This threshold allows you to test the value of the
ERROR returned by RDFCOM.
In case the
RDFCOM returns a value of all asterisks
(****), OVNM interprets it as 9999 (four nines).
To track occurrence of this error, you can test for “=
9999” or “Greater than 9998” or an equivalent
Boolean operation.
• Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
• Less than <value1>
• Less than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1>
• Greater than or equal to <value1>
•
Greater than <value1> and less than
<value2>
• Less than <value1> or greater than
<value2>
PROCESS IS DOWN This threshold will notify you if the process is not
running.
No operator.
RTD TIME
This allows you to test the value of the RTD time.
This value is specified in Seconds.
• Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
• Less than <value1>
• Less than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1>
• Greater than or equal to <value1>
•
Greater than <value1> and less than
<value2>
• Less than <value1> or greater than
<value2>
