OVNM 5.3 - Operations Agent for NonStop Object Reference Guide
Threshold Policies 127
Policy
Description
Operators Allowed
PORT DOES NOT EXIST
PORT DOES NOT EXIST allows the user to check if
the port number specified is not found. This
threshold will raise an alert if the port does not
exist.
No operator.
TIME-WAIT
TIME-WAIT allows the user to determine if the port
is waiting for sufficient time to pass (about 2 round
trips) to be sure that stray packets are flushed from
the network.
• EQUAL TO
• NOT EQUAL TO
2-23-3 OBJECT CLASS: PROCESS
Policy
Description
Operators Allowed
CPU ASSIGNED TO
PROCESS
CPU ASSIGNED TO PROCESS allows the user to
check on the CPU assigned to the TCPIP primary
process.
•
Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
NO BACKUP PROCESS
NO BACKUP PROCESS allows the user to
determine if a backup process is not running. In
other words, the process is not running as a
NONSTOP process.
Valid Operations:
• To generate an Exception event when a certain
process is not running in a NONSTOP fashion
the user does not need to specify any values
for PolicyLow, PolicyHigh nor a
PolicyOperator.
• The user can specify different times in which
the process will be checked to be running in a
NONSTOP mode.
No operator.
PORT IS IN FIN-WAIT STATE PORT IS IN FIN-WAIT STATE allows the user to
check the TCPIP process state. If any ports are in
fin-wait state, it will be treated as a violation,
otherwise normal.
No operator.
PRIORITY OF PROCESS
PRIORITY OF PROCESS allows the user to check on
the priority assigned to the TCPIP process to be
monitored.
• Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
• Less than <value1>
• Less than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1>
• Greater than or equal to <value1>
•
Greater than <value1> and less than
<value2>
• Less than <value1> or greater than
<value2>
PROCESS IS DOWN PROCESS IS DOWN allows the user to check if
TCPIP process is not running.
No operator.
PROCESS IS UP
UP allows the user to check if the TCPIP process is
running.
The following process states will define a process
UP state:
• UNALLOCATED
• STARTING
• RUNNABLE
No operator.
PROCESS STATS This is for a future enhancement. This will allow
customers to collect statistics on their TCP
environment and send it to a off-host SQL database
to be processed by Data Analyzer.
No Operator. Also, no alerts are ever
generated from this threshold. No
actions can be defined.
