2-25 TMF 
Transaction Monitoring Facility or TMF is a major subsystem on the NSK platform. It provides services for 
transactions like Rollback and Roll forward (in case of system failures), Audit trails and Audit dumps (for data 
integrity). Various applications use these services for the Transaction protection that is built in to this subsystem. 
2-25-1 OBJECT CLASS: AUDITDUMP 
Policy

AUDIT DUMP IS DISABLED 
AUDIT DUMP IS DISABLED allows the user to 
check the Audit Dump state. If it is disabled it is 
treated as a violation, otherwise normal. 
No operator. 
AUDIT DUMP IS INACTIVE  AUDIT DUMP IS INACTIVE allows the user to 
check the status of the Audit Dump state.  
If the audit dump is not active it is treated as a 
violation. 
No operator. 
2-25-2 OBJECT CLASS: AUDITTRAIL

Operators Allowed 
AUDIT HOLD  AUDIT HOLD allows the user to check the Audit 
Hold state. If it is in Hold state, it will be treated 
as a violation, otherwise normal. 
No operator. 
CANNOT ROLLOVER 
CANNOT ROLLOVER feature allow the user to 
check for Audit Trail rollovers. Audit Rollover is 
switching of the current audit trail file to the next 
file in the sequence. If it cannot roll over, it is 
treated as a violation.

CAPACITY IN USE  There is a series of audit trail files containing audit 
records. Before a transaction permanently 
commits its changes to a database and 
information about the affected rows or records of 
each transaction is written to the audit trail. If a 
database is distributed over a network, separate 
audit trails are maintained on each node where 
the database resides. 
CAPACITY IN USE allows the user to check the 
percentage of the audit trail file in use.

OVER FLOW IN USE 
OVER FLOW IN USE allows the user to check if 
the info exceeds the capacity of audit trail file. If 
it exceeds, it is treated as a violation.
