3 Recovery Methods
One of the most important features of OVNM is Recovery, which triggers automated actions in case of a
violation. You can define the recovery actions to be taken for different violation conditions. This feature is
disabled by default and has to be enabled manually. Recovery can be activated or inactivated at the following
two levels:
• Threshold Level Recovery
• Object Level Recovery
The table given below gives the recovery methods, which are applicable to all the subsystems.
Recovery Method
Description
None
If selected, this means that no recovery method will be applied.
Execute User-Defined Rule in <Value 1>
This recovery will execute the user-defined rule number (1 to 9999) given in the
<Value 1> field.
Turn Recovery OFF for Group <Value 1>
Subgroup <Value 2>
This recovery method will inactivate recovery for the group & subgroup specified
using <Value 1> and <Value 2>, respectively.
Turn Recovery ON for Group <Value 1>
Subgroup <Value 2>
This recovery method will activate recovery for the group & subgroup specified
using <Value 1> and <Value 2>, respectively.
User Defined Command
This recovery will execute a user-defined command. It can be an OBEY file or any
valid TACL command no longer than 128 bytes.
