OVNM 5.3 - Operations Agent for NonStop Object Reference Guide
Threshold Policies 31
2-4 CPU
This subsystem manages and controls one of the major components of the system i.e. the CPU. The
counters/modifiers predefined for this subsystem greatly facilitate the monitoring and recovery of all the CPUs’ for
the NSK node.
2-4-1 OBJECT CLASS: CPU
Policy
Description
Operators Allowed
CPU IS DOWN
CPU IS DOWN allows the user to check the CPU
state. If it is DOWN, it will be treated as the
violation state, otherwise normal.
No operator.
CPU IS UP
CPU IS UP allows the user to check the CPU state. If
it is UP, it will be treated as the violation state,
otherwise normal.
No operator.
CPU PERCENT BUSY
CPU PERCENT BUSY allows the user to check on
the percentage of CPU Busy time for the CPU being
monitored. The units for Value1 (Low-Value) and
Value2 (High-Value) should always be a
percentage.
• Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
• Less than <value1>
• Less than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1>
• Greater than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1> and less
than <value2>
• Less than <value1> or greater than
<value2>
CPU QUEUE LENGTH CPU QUEUE LENGTH allows the user to check on
the CPU queue length for the CPU being monitored.
The units for Value1 (Low-Value) and Value2 (High-
Value) should always be the number of processes in
the queue.
•
Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
• Less than <value1>
• Less than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1>
• Greater than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1> and less
than <value2>
• Less than <value1> or greater than
<value2>
HIGH-PCBS IN USE
HIGH-PCBS IN USE allows the user to check on the
number of processes with high-pin PCBs that are
running in a certain CPU.
The units for Value1 (Low-Value) and Value2 (High-
Value) should always be the number of processes
running in high-pin.
• Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
• Less than <value1>
• Less than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1>
• Greater than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1> and less
than <value2>
• Less than <value1> or greater than
<value2>
LOW-PCBS IN USE LOW-PCBS IN USE allows the user to check on the
number of processes with low-pin PCBs that are
running in a certain CPU.
The units for Value1 (Low-Value) and Value2 (High-
Value) should always be a number.
•
Equal to <value1>
• Not equal to <value1>
• Less than <value1>
• Less than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1>
• Greater than or equal to <value1>
• Greater than <value1> and less
than <value2>
• Less than <value1> or greater than
<value2>
