Possible Causes: This message box is displayed when the OVNM Subvolume field in the OVNM tab page is left
blank or has an invalid value.
Action to be taken: Enter the subvolume to operate the OVNM application in the OVNM Subvolume field. By
default this field has the value $SYSTEM.OVNM. The validations for the OVNM Subvolume field are:
1 It should begin with “$”.
2 The format of this field is $<Volume>.<Subvolume>.
3 The ‘$’ and dot (.) should be followed by a character. Other numerals can be alphabets or positive integers.
4 The maximum length of this field can be 17 characters. $ can be followed by a maximum of 7 characters and
dot (.) can be followed by a maximum of 8 characters.

Possible Causes: This message box is displayed when the Home Terminal field in the Host tab page is left blank or
has an invalid value.
Action to be taken: Enter the Home terminal for OVNM Host processes in the Home Terminal field. By default this
field has the value $VHS. The validations for the Home Terminal field are:
1 It should begin with “$” followed by an alphabet.
2 The format of this field is $<Process Name>.#<Terminal>. You can also skip Process Name and change
the format to $<Home Terminal>.
3 The maximum length of this field can be 17 characters when the Process name is specified. On not specifying
the process name the maximum possible length of this field becomes 8 characters.
4 It can contain only alphanumeric characters.

Possible Causes: This message box is displayed when the Log To Collector field in the Host tab page is left blank or
has an invalid value.
Action to be taken: Enter the collector where the application will log all the events in the Log To Collector field. By
default this field has the value $0. The validations for the Log To Collector field are:
1 It should begin with “$”.
2 It accepts only characters and positive integers but no special characters.
3 The maximum length of this field is 8 characters, dollar ($) sign followed by seven characters.
