Possible Causes: This message box is displayed when the Owner.Subsystem field available in the Object Details 
section for the EMS subsystem is left blank. 
Action to be taken: Specify the owner and the subsystem of the event in the owner.subsystem format in the 
Owner.Subsystem field. You can either type in the line name or select from the list of the entries already made.

Possible Causes: This message box is displayed when you enter an invalid value in the Owner.Subsystem field 
available in the Object Details section for the EMS subsystem. 
Action to be taken: Specify the owner and the subsystem of the event in the owner.subsystem format in the 
Owner.Subsystem field. You can either type in the line name or select from the list of the entries already made. 
Examples of valid Owner.Subsystem are: 
TANDEM.EMS 
TANDEM.PATHWAY 
MYORG.1 
For HP NonStop subsystems, the subsystem owner is “TANDEM”.

Possible Causes: The Event Number box allows you to define a single threshold policy that would apply to all the 
events for a given owner.subsystem. This message box is displayed when the Event Number field available in the 
Object Details section for the EMS subsystem is left blank. 
Action to be taken: Specify the event number in the Event Number field. The Event Number field can accept any 
string of 32 characters. The value can be: 
•  Integer 
•  Range, for example a:b, where a and b are numbers separated by a colon 
•  Multiple integers separated by commas, for example 1,2,3,4 
•  Multiple ranges separated by colons, for example 1:10, -5:-2 and 100:200 
•  Multiple integers and range(s) together, for example 1,2,3,100:150, -100:99 
•  Negative event number(s) and negative event range(s)
