15-4 Application Availability
The Application Availability function monitors the status of applications defined on the node. An application is a
logical entity defined by a set of processes. An application can contain up to 200 processes.
The Application Availability module can monitor up to 160 applications.
Each time a process belonging to an application changes status, such as a process stops or starts, an alert
message is sent to one of the means of display.
Use the following steps to access the Application Availability module.
1. Click on the Availability icon on the Status bar. This action can also be performed by clicking on the
Availability option in the Tools menu.
2. The Expert Mode dialog box is displayed. Type the password to access the expert mode and click on the
OK button. This displays the Availability window.
3. Select the Applications option from the Availability menu. The Availability Applications window displays the
status of defined applications on the node. For each application, it shows how many processes are
running, have stopped, or changed status.
