Workstation
2-1 OVNPM Server Installation Prerequisites
Before installing OVNPM Server components, ensure that the following tasks have been accomplished:
1. FTP and Telnet between Workstation and the HP NonStop node must be available. Any firewall restriction
needs to be addressed to allow the communication paths.
2. A minimum of three ports should be available outside the firewall on the HP NonStop Managed Host.
3. The following User rights will be required by the user performing the OVNPM installation:
Windows Environment: Administrator
HP NonStop Environment: Although any NonStop user can be used to install OVNPM, at the end of the
OVNPM Server Installation OVNPM Basic Collector needs to be licensed using the super.super user.
4. If OVNPM was not supplied with a Product Key, a temporary Key for 60 days will be generated. You will
need to purchase the OVNPM product after the evaluation period. Contact your local HP representative for
details.
5. It is not recommended to use the $SYSTEM volume for installing OVNPM server components on the HP
NonStop Server. This might adversely affect the NonStop server performance.
2-2 Contents of the Installation Exe
The OVNPMServerInstallation.exe contains components necessary to install the OVNPM components on
HP NonStop Servers. This self-extracting exe file includes the following:

For managing OVNPM components on the HP NonStop server. It includes commands

OVNPM Concept Guide. (For
Windows XP/2003/Vista)
Contains information about OVNPM architecture, working and features
OVNPM Server Management Guide Contains detailed information about how to install OVNPM server components.
OVNPM Server Monitoring Guide Contains detailed information about how to configuring the environment after the
installation along with other related information.
OVNPM Navigator Guide Contains detailed information on the Navigator and how to use Navigator to get HP
NonStop Servers performance information.
