Environment Variables Loaded
The VGEN macro updates OVNPM using the same file locations provided by the environmental variables in the
VISLOAD file. VGEN first prompts to confirm that the product should be upgraded using the VISLOAD file that it
found.
Example
$DATA01.J317TACL 52> run vgen
---------------------------------------------------------
-- Copyright(c) 2005, HP, OVNPM. --
-- Version 1.5.0 (aakv) --
-- Product generation utility. --
---------------------------------------------------------
Generating OpenNET/Ovnpm 8.1 risc for Guardian G6 and Measure G12.
1) Installation type selection.
-------------------------------
Enter U to update an existing installation.
Enter N to make a new installation.
Enter X to leave utilty.
* Enter U, N, or X >u
2) Select the tacl subvolume to update.
---------------------------------------
Old Ovnpm version detected.
The environment file (visenv) is located in $DATA01.J317TACL
* Do you want to use this current location y/n ?n
* Enter Ovnpm tacl subvolume >$DATA01.VISTACL
* Confirm choice Y, N, or X >y
If the response to the prompt is Y (yes), VGEN will update the product libraries and scan and update the
existing OVNPM configuration files. The upgrade is now complete.
If the response is N (no), VGEN assumes that the user wants to create a new occurrence of OVNPM. This
will result in several versions of OVNPM on the same system and is not usually recommended.
Environment Variables Not Loaded
If OVNPM is installed but its environmental variables are not loaded because a VISLOAD file cannot be located,
VGEN prompts to confirm that an upgrade is requested. If the update is confirmed, it then prompts for a
VISLOAD file location and updates the product using the other locations found in the VISLOAD file.
Example:
$DATA01.OV15TACL 20> RUN VISLOAD
---------------------------------------------------------
-- Copyright(c) 2009, HP, OVNPM. --
-- Version 1.5.0 (aakv). --
