7 Starting OVNPM Subsystem

7-1 Host Management Client

The OVNPM Host Management Client is an interactive GUI. It allows basic management commands. You can

start the Host Management Client using the Start\Programs\HP OVNPM\Server\Host Management Client menu

option.

Clicking on the Host Management Client menu option displays the OVNPM Host Management Client dialog box.

You can use the various buttons in the dialog box to perform actions like starting and stopping OVNPM server

components. All of these functions require login procedures.

Refer to Appendix C: OVNPM Host Management Client Functions for more details.

NOTE: You cannot start OVNPM if the Basic Collector program is not licensed. Installation licenses the

program if the “super.super” logon is used. Otherwise, you must logon as super.super and then execute the

command “fup licence bc” in the OVNPM executable subvolume.

NOTE: In case of problems, it is recommended to use OVNPM TACL commands. Refer to Managing OVNPM

Subsystem chapter to load, use the commands and get Server Online help.
