8-1-1 OVNPM Subsystem
The OVNPM subsystem contains all OVNPM components running on an NSK host. OVNPM subsystem has four
applications. These applications are managed by NAM (Non Stop Application Manager), which provides the
Fault tolerance functionality. The applications are:
1. CORE
The CORE application manages the performance data collect, the performance data storage and executes
the system investigation queries. Core is main application of the OVNPM Subsystem. Core also provides
the interface for the proprietary client: the Display Agent. The CORE application supports 16 simultaneous
Display Agent connections.
2. SN
The SN application stands for System Navigator. SN is the HTTP interface between the core and any web
browser or third party product understanding the HTTP and XML protocols.
3. DSV
The DSV application is the Distributed Display Agent Server. It links several Core applications over an
EXPAND network. It provides a unique Display Agent entry point for all the systems. The DSV application
supports 12 simultaneous Display Agent connections.
4. DSN
DSN application stands for Distributed System Navigator. DSN is an HTTP interface that aggregates data
from several core applications over an EXPAND network.
NOTE: The OVNPM architecture has changed since SPR T0684 AAE. The original NonStop pathway support
has been replaced with NonStop Application Manager (NAM).
