OVNPM 1.5.2 - Performance Agent for NonStop Server Management Guide
Appendix D 97
SV_START_NS_SUBSYS
Starts the OVNPM subsystem with fault-tolerant operation. A PATHWAY Monitor (PATHMON) is started,
and then the Collection Manager, Database Server, and Display Server. If any of these processes aborts, it
restarts automatically. The status of the subsystem is monitored with SV_STATUS_SUBSYS.
If Navigator is registered, it also starts the Navigator Server and its TCP/IP server.
SV_STATUS_SUBSYS
Checks the status of the individual processes of the OVNPM subsystem with SV_STATUS_SUBSYS. This
includes the Basic Collectors that run on every CPU, as well as the Collection Manager, Database Server,
and Display Server, TCP/IP Server, Trend Server, and Correlation Server.
NOTE: A status of “NOT EXIST” is normal for the Trend Server, as it does not run until a user requests a
SystemTrend display or a correlation request.programs.
SV_STOP_SUBSYS
Stops the subsystem processes from executing. If the system is running with PATHWAY, PATHMON is also
stopped.
It also stops the Navigator Server and its TCP/IP server if it exists.
Discontinued Operational Commands
SV_PATHCOM (non-stop mode only)
This command starts PATHCOM, the user interface to PATHWAY and the PATHMON associated with Non-
Stop OVNPM.
SV_RESTART_TCPSVR (non-stop mode only)
This command restarts a TCP/IP Server when it has stopped.
